In good condition with minor traces of use
A large double-sided mirror door wardrobe, possible to transform into a bookcase, stamped Jeanselme. The doors are flanked with fluted pilasters, above a long drawer and on short tapering legs. Reverse of doors are in veneered in bird's-eye maple, shelved interior. The wardrobe is mounted with gilt bronze ornaments, beading and vegetative mounts.

Charles Jeanselme was a known cabinet-maker of the time - he was born in a family of cabinet-makers that worked from 1824 to the end of the 19th century. The family acquired the lower part of the Grand Maison Jacob in 1847 where they provided the wealthy Parisian families with furniture in the Louis XVI and Napoleon III styles.
