On November 7, 2001, Michael participated in an exclusive event to promote his Invincible CD. It was the first time that Michael participated in an exclusive promotion as a soloist and it became one of the most memorable events in history. I remember that I joined the queue around 10:30 pm and I was out all night with hundreds of fans. It was a very cold night and all the fans used warm clothes, blankets and even tents. Finally, the opening of the VIRGIN MEGASTORE doors was at 09:00 a.m. There was a lot of hysteria. I remember that the queue was endless. Hundreds of people bought the same "INVINCIBLE" CD. After paying for the CD and leaving the payment queue, I presented the receipt of the purchase and they gave me the numbered pass and the number of the lanyard pass was written on the receipt of the purchase. Only 500 people were able to participate in the signing and everyone received a numbered VIP pass, mine was number 451. Once I got my registration and the pass, I went to eat something around VIRGIN MEGASTORE. I did not go too far because the event started at 4 p.m. When we went in, a hole was punched in the pass to show we had gone in. The event was known throughout the world. Thousands of people gathered around the store. Times Square was filled with thousands and thousands of people and media covering that day, and the traffic slowed down to greet and see Michael. Michael was signing at a table on the ground floor of the store and I remember that on his right his friend Frank Casio was sitting and there were 500 fans lined up and many times during the event, the coordinators said "Michael, we have only gone through 50 people, We've 450 fans in the queue , stop being so kind." That was MJ, speaking, shaking hands when asked and asking fans who were crying if they were "okay". You could see that he was tired but he sat for hours signing more than 500 CD covers, personal photos, etc. What surprised me about this event was that MJ was there for so long, my understanding is more than 2 hours and how he treated the fans that were waiting. Unfortunately I don't have a photo of Michael signing my CD because no cameras or videos of fans were permitted.
