Splendid copy of the weapon developed by Eli Whitney in 1871 and produced until 1879. Eli Whitney is best known for having developed for Colt the very famous "Whitneyville Walker Dragoon". Several "Pocket Model" were offered for sale. Produced in approx. 30,000 copies in total, they are available in three versions:

-Model 2 "1/2", calibre 32 RF, cylinder 6 shots and 5-inch barrel, approx. 2,000 copies
- Model 3, calibre 38 RF, cylinder 5 shots
The revolver up for sale is a rare copy of the Model 2 series "1/2" in size 32 rimfire 6 shots and 5-inch barrel, in superb preserved condition.
The weapon is entirely original, the body in brass offer a beautiful patina and the barrel has retained much of its bronze, just like other steel parts. The wooden butt plates have a few dents and light lack in perfect coherence with the rest of the weapon.
Operation is smooth and flawless, parts are very tightly, light play when arming. The air gap is excellent, the cylinder is very beautiful and the teeth of the ratchet have aged very well as the chambers which are perfect, the barrel is in excellent condition and the grooves are perfect. The percussion is frank. Complete disassembly without problem, the threads of the screws are very well preserved.
All parts with the same number. The marking "WHITNEYVILLE ARMORY CT USA" is perfectly readable.
This beautiful revolver has been completely dismantled, cleaned and oiled, it is perfectly suited for the shooting. Very nice piece and much rarer than revolvers produced by Smith & Wesson, very well made, and which has gone through the test of time. Whitneyville revolvers have become rare and hard to find items.
