Provenance: From the old collection of Mr. Bernard Francis Walker, who was an art collector. Mr. Walker invented a type of archival paper and how to electroplate plastic. He was born in 1918 and passed away in 2012. He made numerous donations to the Detroit Art community back in the 1960's. A copy of purchase available to new owner if requested.
This lot comes from the private collection of Mr. Juan Carlos Bahamonde who over a period of 20 years acquired his collection from various prestigious dealers and has now decided to downsize his beloved collection. His degree in Archaeology from Manchester University, which is one of the best in the U.K. and passion for ancient history is reflected in this antiquity.
A wonderful terracotta imperial court female figure showcasing a high hairdresser, and flowing robes; her facial features delicately and expertly modelled, with remains of colour pigments. With an old custom-made stand.
Height: 28 cm.
Condition: In good condition with age related wear, some soil and mineral accretion; the head reattached. Else, intact.
