Aria Diamond - made in Japan - 1960

Guitar with hollow body Aria Diamond / Conrad model 1202T c.1967 This Matsumoku made Aria Diamond with a Conrad badge indicating that it was imported by David Wexler and Company of Chicago, Illinois. The body is missing of a thin double line, inspired to Gibson ES-335 with rounded upper and lower horns. The upper part has a nice sunburst finish and has three holes in 3 parts with rounded edges, separated by the central part of the “f”. The pickguard, the switch cap and the pickup surround are 4ply fake turtles. The two pickups are single coil, selected by a 3-way switch lever. Each pickup has individual tone and volume controls. The bolt-on maple neck has a rosewood fretboard bound with 21 frets and plastic inserts. Please notice that the edges of the fretboard are rounded at the corners, a sign of the quality of these early Japanese hollow-bodies. The movable bridge can be adjusted and the tailpiece is a traditional trapeze coupled with a Bigsby spring base. The tremolo bar is one of the longest never seen and works very well, with a smooth and pleasant sensation. The three and three headstock is in Gibson style with a deep central engraving. The headstock faces the same turtle used on the pickguard. The height of the fretboard string is of approx. 1 mm to the 1st fret, 2 mm at the 5th fret, 4 mm at the 12th fret and above. The guitar is entirely original, it misses the tremolo lever. No case included but it will be well packed and protected for the shipping. Condition: Very good Aria 1202T Hollowbody Finish: Sunburst Categories: Hollowbody, semi-hollow Year: 1967 Japan
