In good condition, there is only the front part, the rest is missing
The panel is a recovery of a front part of a chest from Veneto. 137 x 45 x 2.5 cm.
I think the material is cedar, for its colour and for the presence of a node, but given the age of the item (almost 600 years) I’m not sure. There are scenes of wolves that attack a deer, a roe deer and a hare, a lynx and two hunters with strange trousers. The item dates back to the 15th century.
I think there are no other panels like this, because it is 600 years old. Here, there were French, Germans, Turks and Magyars, although it was the territory of the Most Serene Republic. This panel survived two world wars and also the cold. If I were a hunter I wouldn’t sell it for sure.
