Exakta 66 Mod. I with Carl Zeiss 50mm f:4
This Exakta 66, based on the Pentacon Six, was made in West Germany in the 1980s. It's a medium format, 6x6 beast of a camera built to last. Exakta wanted to make a camera that could survive a serious beating and therefore redesigned the Pentacon Six and improved the rewinding mechanism significantly. Fitted with the P6 lens mount there are few types of lenses you cannot buy for this camera system. Schneider Kreuznach, Carl Zeiss, Kiev and many others produced top quality glass that fits the Exakta 66. Besides the interchangeable lenses there is also an option to switch the top prism and focusing glass.
The camera is in full working order and the shutter fires on all speeds. I put a roll in it that I use for testing and everything worked just fine. Almost no signs of wear, a tiny scratch here an there, but nothing worrisome. The self timer needs a little push though. The viewfinder and focusing glass are clear and bright.
